Leading into tonight's match, the Sounders had experienced a scoring drought for their forwards that lasted just upward of six hundred thirty minutes, Fredy Montero single-handedly broke that dry spell off of a beautiful free kick in the ninetieth minute. During the first half the Sounders struggled to find their way out of their own half of the field, only collecting three shots none of which found their way on target. One of their best chances, barring Montero's free kick, of the match by far came in just the second minute. After winning a throw in Lamar Neagle threw the ball in, and Mike Fucito just pounced on it. Sprinting towards goal he slid in the shot, but the ball just glanced of the post and out of play. That was his only opportunity though, Fucito had another chance in the fifty nineth minute, heading the ball just over the cross bar off of a cross by Montero. What really makes this victory sweet is the fact that only minutes into the second half the Sounders went down a man, after Jhon Kennedy Hurtado picked up a second yellow card after dragging down Toronto FC midfielder Alen Stevanovic. Despite the disadvantage, the Sounders kept fighting and pushing forward, eventually leading to the free kick that Montero knocked home.

- After a shocking 4-1 loss last weekend against Sporting Kansas City, FC Dallas continued on their winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Chivas USA
