Well, fortunately now it seems that Major league Soccer is beginning to crack down on diving and embellishment, or any theatrical act performed with the intention of deceiving the referee. Today the Major league Soccer Disciplinary Committee handed Divies a $1000 fine for the dive he committed against Real Salt Lake. Clearly this won't be a one time deal, as the following statement was made in the press release posted on mlssoccer.com: "Moving forward, all instances of behavior that serves to deceive and that directly impact the game will be subject to severe discipline, including a fine, suspension or both."
